ABOUT THE EVENT

Chicago's Juneteenth 5K

A community celebration rooted in the historic significance of June 19th, 1865 — the day
freedom was finally declared for all. We run to honor that legacy and build a healthier,
stronger Chicago.

OUR STORY

Born from community.

The Chicago Juneteenth 5K was created to bring something new to Chicago's Juneteenth celebration — a community athletic event that centers Black health, Black wealth, and Black culture on one of the most significant days in American history.

We believe movement is medicine. We believe celebration should include the whole community — runners, walkers, families, and neighbors.

This is Year One. We're building something that will grow with Chicago for generations.
